There are three pairs of letter are there in the word 'ELECTRICAL’ each of which has as many letters between them in the word as in the English alphabet.

The pairs of letters are E-I, E-L and I-L.

  • For finding the number of letters, we start counting from each letter in both the directions( forward and backwards).

For example:

Starting with the first letter, E and incrementing one value at a time, we check if it has similarity with any of the letter in the word.

EFGHIJKLMN- Except the first letter none of the letters match, so not considered.

Similarly, for next letter L,

LMNOPQRST- no match

For the third letter E,

EFGHIJKL- On comparing with the main word, we see two matches- I and L

We do the same for all the letters and it is to be noted that at one time we either check in the forward or backward direction.
