CHRONICALE is not an English word . Still I am trying to solve . Note that it is a Multiple Choice Question which comes in competitive exams .

Now if you wanna check 'CHRONICLE' the answer is 2 .

O is separated from N by no alphabets same as MNOP in the alphabet system .

Similarly , we can see that C is separated from E with just 1 alphabet same as CDE .

So there are two such pairs of letters : O,N and C,E .

Checking for 'CHRONICALE' now ,

There is one alphabet pair - ON which is the same as that of the alphabet system .

There are no more pairs - only one ( Correct me if I am wrong ) .

So the answer will be OPTION B if the spelling typed is correct otherwise I will stick to OPTION C .
