There are three tenses,namely;

1) Past tense :- a tense is past,when the things which have already taken place or which are being continued from the past until now,or any reference to the past happenings. Example-- Yesterday was a holiday .

2) Present tense :- a tense is present,when the thing or situation talked about is taking place presently. Example-- Today is a holiday.

3) Future tense :- a tense is future when,the things are not yet done,they are to take place in future.

Example -- Tomorrow is a holiday.
