A cubic polynomial with one variable can have maximum of 4 terms. It's general form can be stated as : ax^3 + bx^2 +cx +d

Here the highest power of variable is 3 so it is cubic and as you can see the maximum terms are four.if you add more terms also then they will be solved and 4 terms will only remain.
