how many tiles each of area 400 CM square will be needed to pay a Footpath which is 2 metre wide and surround a grass plot 25 m long and 30 M wide

here's ur answer...

first of all we have to find the area of the footpath that is surrounding the grass plot.

given the Length of the plot is 25m and breadth is 30m.

area of the grass plot = l×b

= 25×30

= 750m²

length of the path parallel to the length of the plot = 25+2+2

= 25+4

= 29m

length of the parallel to the breadth of the plot = 30+2+2

= 30+4

= 34m

area of the plot along with the path = l×b

= 29×34

= 986m²

area of the path = 986-750

= 236m²

in cm² = 236×10000

= 2360000cm²

hence no. of tiles required to pave the footpath = 2360000/400

= 5900

5900 tiles are required.
