Answer :

  • 800 tiles are required to cover the region

Given :

Rectangular tiles :

  • length is 13cm
  • breadth is 7cm

Rectangular region :

  • length is 520 cm
  • breadth is 140 cm

To find :

  • tiles

Solution :

Rectangular tiles :

  • Length of tile is 13cm
  • breadth of tile is 7cm

As we know that ,

  • Area of rectangular tiles = length × breadth

● 13 × 7

● 91 cm²

Area of rectangular tiles is 91cm²

Rectangular region:

  • length of region is 520 cm
  • breadth of region is 140cm

As we know that ,

  • Area of rectangular region = length × breadth

● 520 × 140

● 72800cm²

Area of rectangular region is 72800cm²

Now , we have to find the numbers of tiles :

  • Number of tiles = Area of rectangular tiles - Area of rectangular region

● 72800/91

● 800

Hence , 800 tiles are required to cover the region
