How many times do you think I need to break it to get what I want ?There is a 2 x 8 chocolate bar I have with me. I can break this bar along the length or the breadth. Now, I want to obtain 1 x 1 pieces.

You can do it in 4 times.
Break in the middle to make two 2*4 bars
keep on above other. break to make four 2*2 bars
keep all bars one above other. break to make eight 1*2 bars
keep all bars one above other. break to make sixteen 1*1 bars
