The Fourth Lok Sabha constituted after fourth general elections in the country in 1967. In fact, it is considered as the last general election where the simultaneous elections held both Indian Union as well as states.

It was also first election after death of the first Indian prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru. 15 Lok sabha have been dissolved before constitution of every post elections.
