Answer:

Answer:

Reaction of monochlorination of 2 methyl butane :-

when the monochlorination reaction proceed by the 2 methyl butane , we get 4 isomers (ignoring optical isomers ) in form of the product .

isomers have identical chemical formula but their structure are different each other.

PRODUCTS OF REACTION :-

Isomers:-

1) Cl CH2- CH2-CH(CH)3-CH3

2) CH3-CHCl-CH(CH3)-CH3

3) CH3-CH3-CCl(CH3)-CH3

4) CH3-CH2-CH(CH)3-CH2 Cl

isomers have different different boiling / melting point so they can easily separated by their boiling / melting point test , the boiling/ melting point is main of the property to the identification of the compounds.

isomers are enantiomers, only they can be non - superimposable image , it have achiral carbon atoms .

They have different physical properties (solubility, m.p., b.p., NMR, IR spectra etc.) and can be separated by physical methods such as fractional distillation.
