there are mainly 3 types of muscles
a) skeletal muscle
b) smooth muscle
c) cardiac muscle
skeletal muscle- in it tissue is closely attached to skeletal bones. in a typical muscle such as the bicep striated skeletal muscle fibres bundle together in a parallel fashion
smooth muscle- in it fibers taper at both ends and do not show striations . cell junction hold them together and they are bundle together in a connective tissue sheath . the wall of internal organs such as the blood vessels stomach and intestine contain this type of muscle
cardiac muscle- it is a contractile tissues present only in heart. cell junctions fuse the plasma membrane of cardiac muscle cells and make them stich together

- In the muscular system, muscle tissue is categorized into three distinct types: skeletal, cardiac, and smooth. Each type of muscle tissue in the human body has a unique structure and a specific role.
- Skeletal muscle moves bones and other structures. Cardiac muscle contracts the heart to pump blood. The smooth muscle tissue that forms organs like the stomach and bladder changes shape to facilitate bodily functions.
