Explanation:
A. Solar system
the collection of eight planets and their moons in orbit round the sun, together with smaller bodies in the form of asteroids, meteoroids, and comets. There are eight planets in the solar system: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.
B. The “gas giants” Jupiter and Saturn are mostly hydrogen and helium. The “ice giants” Uranus and Neptune are made primarily of heavier stuff, probably the next most abundant elements in the Sun – oxygen, carbon, nitrogen, and sulfur.
C. The most common chemical elements in the crust are oxygen (46.6%), silicon (27.7), aluminum (8.1), iron (5.0), calcium (3.6), potassium (2.8), sodium (2.6), and magnesium (2.1).
D. Just like most other stars, the sun is made up mostly of hydrogen, followed by helium. The most probable fate of the planet is absorption by the Sun in about 7.5 billion years, after the star has entered the red giant phase and expanded beyond the planet's current orbit.
E. Solar energy is radiant light and heat from the Sun that is harnessed using a range of ever-evolving technologies such as solar heating, photovoltaics, solar thermal energy, solar architecture, molten salt power plants and artificial photosynthesis.
F. The first and major difference between the earth and the moon is that the earth is a planet and moon is a satellite (the earth goes around the sun and the moon goes around the earth which is a planet). Majority of the planets do have satellites orbiting them. ... The moon does not have strong atmosphere around it.
G. We only see the Moon because sunlight reflects back to us from its surface. ... As the Moon circles the Earth, the amount of the lit side we see changes. These changes are known as the phases of the Moon and it repeats in a certain way over and over. At new moon, the Moon is lined up between the Earth and the Sun.
H. A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth passes between the Moon and the Sun, and the Earth's shadow obscures the moon or a portion of it. A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, blocking all or a portion of the Sun. An eclipse can be total, partial, or annular.
I. Artificial satellites are man-made bodies that revolve around the earth. They are used for multiple purposes like communication, weather forecasting, remote sensing, etc. Examples: INSAT, IRS, SPUTNIK-I.
