रेडियोऐक्टिव तत्व का ताप एवं दाब कम, अधिक करने से उसकी अन्य भौतिक अवस्था में परिवर्तन कर देने से उसका किसी अन्य तत्व के साथ रासायनिक संयोग करने से, या चुंबकीय क्षेत्र आदि लगाने से तत्व की रेडियोऐक्टिवता की तीव्रता पर कोई असर नहीं पड़ता। इससे यह निष्कर्ष निकलता है कि रेडियोऐक्टिवता न्यूक्लियस का गुण है और इसका इलेक्ट्रॉन विन्यास से कोई संबंध नहीं है।
