this we we need to understand formation of matter. And for this we need to add dimensional concept were everything starts with zeroth dimension obj. having no length or breadh or mass. They doesn't even occupy space! This zroth dimension obj. combines infinety to form one dimensional strings as predicted by Eienstein having just length which can be considered as one dimensional. From this 2D obj. such as radiation or quarks are formed depending upon the geometrical arrangements of strings. The energy(radiation) belongs to this dimension . But by. Diff. arrangements of 2D quarks 3d obj. like gluons, protons gravitons etc. are formed and from this atoms are formed. All this 3d obj. Possesses mass(may be negligible).
Through this we can simply say that there should be some relation bet. the 2D energy and 3D mass. In short it can be concluded that thus depends completely on perception. This means that mass can be said as energy at a time energy can be said as mass. Similarly mass can also shown in form of mass and visa versa. Also mass can shown in form of zeroth dimension that does not occupies space
