Answer:

The Pothohar Plateau (Punjabi: پوٹھوار, Urdu: سطح مرتفع پوٹھوہار‎; alternatively spelled Potohar, Potwar or Pothwar) is a plateau in north-eastern Pakistan, forming the northern part of Punjab. It borders the western parts of Azad Kashmir and the southern part of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The region was once the home of the ancient Soanian culture, which is evidenced by the discovery of fossils, tools, coins, and remains of ancient archaeological sites.

Answer:

deforestation has greatly altered the landscape of Potwar plateau

Explanation:

The climate of most of the area is semi-arid to humid with annual rainfall ranging from 900-1900 mm which is very less and makes farming difficult. Its varied landscape is constantly affected by erosion. There is a lot of deforestation, due to lack of greenery which can remove soil particles, causing the soil to deteriorate. One of the reasons for bad topography of Potwar plateau is deforestation. The land of Potwar plateau is mainly bare and there is little to no vegetation. This also contributes in the weather and cimate of Potwar plateau making it harder to live here as farming can be a huge issue as due to the amount of soil erosion that takes place here the land is affected and the climate is also not ideal for farming because of this farming is limited and the the little that still does take place is limited on which crops it can provide as not all crops can survive these conditions . This is why there is less population in Potwar plateau.

hope this helps
