How much current will an electric bulb of resistance 1100 S draw from a 220 V source? If a heater of resistance 100 2 is connected to the same source instead of the bulb, calculate the current drawn by the heater.

(a) What are the values of mA and A? (b) Draw the symbols of battery and rheostat.

Answer:

When the bulb of resistance 1100 ohm is connected 0.2 A of current is drawn. Now I = V/R. = 220 / 100. So I = 2.2 A
