Energy = eV

Here e = 1.6 x 10^-19 Coulomb

V = 12 V

E = 1.6 x 10^-19 x 5 x 12 joules/e

=9.6 x 10^-18 joules/e

= 60 joules

Given:

Charge (Q) = 5 C

Potential difference (V) = 12 V

Now:

\boxed{\sf{Energy\ = Charge \times Potential\:Difference}}

\sf{Energy= 5\:C \times 12\:V}

\sf{Energy = 60\:J}

Therefore:

60 J of energy is given to 5 C of charge passing through 12 V battery.
