25 kg N, 12 kg phosphorus , 20 kg potash , 10 - 15 tonnes well rotten farmyard manure are used per acre for chilli crop.
In Punjab the three important varieties of hybrids are Punjab Surkh, Punjab Guchhedar and CH-1 .For nursery sowing the seed rate is 200 g per acre. Area required to transplant nursery in one acre is 25 m² (one Marla).
During end October to mid-November the seed is sown in nursery and transplanting is usually done in February - March.
