In one year 4 successive crops of brinjal can be grown by sowing nursery in the month of October,  November,  Feb-March & July.

60 cm spacing is required between rows and 30 - 45 cm between plants in brinjal crop.

In Punjab the three important varieties of Brinjal are Punjab Neelam (round fruited), BH-2 (oblong fruited) and PBH3 (small fruited). 300-400 g of brinjal seed is sufficient to plant in one acre.
