Specific latent heat of fusion of ice =336Jg−1

Heat energy =mcΔT+mL

where, m = mass of water

c = specific heat capacity of water

L = specific latent heat of fusion of ice

ΔT = change in temperature

Therefore, heat energy released

= 50×4.2×20+5×336

= 4200+1680

= 5880J
