How much light with bent if the refractive index is less?

It may bend a lot, or may bend a little, may bend lesser than before being made less, and may bend greater too.

The bend depends also on the medium it's entering from, not just the one it's entering into - so, say, the first medium has a refractive index of 1000 (humor me), and the second one has 500, and is made lesser (somehow), then the bend will increase.

If you change their roles, but lesser the 1000 one, then the bend would decrease.

I kinda just realized that you might've intended to ask:

Will the light bend towards or away the normal to the surface when entering a medium of refractive index lesser than that of the initial medium?

And the answer to that is away from the normal, since it's travelling from a denser to a rarer medium (optically).
