Solution :-

Given :

Train of length 200 m take to pass a stationary train of length 300 m.

It is travelling at the speed of 30 km per hour.

Convert the speed of train in m/sec :

30 km/hr = (30 × 1000)/(3600) m/sec

= 25/3 m/sec

Find the time taken to pass a stationary train :-

Time = Distance / Speed

= (200 + 300)/(25/3)sec

= (500 × 3)/(25) sec

= 60 sec

Hence,

The time taken to pass a stationary train = 60 seconds or 1 minute

Step-by-step explanation and answer:

We have to calculate the time when it crosses the station hence 200+300=500m

note: Convert every unit to its si unit

and t=d/s thus

t=500/8.33

Hence,

time=60.02 seconds
