1 km =1000m
So, Length = 1000m
Breadth =500 m

So, Perimeter =2(l+b)
=2×(1000+500)
=2×1500
=3000m

Therefore, 3000m of wire is required to fence the field.

The total amount of wire needed to fence the field is 3000m or 3km because the wire will be fenced only at boundary of field
thus the perimeter is calculated for the fence length
thus perimeter of rectangle is 2(L+B) where L is 1000m or 1km and B is 500m or 0.5km
1 km =1000m
So, Length = 1000m
Breadth =500 m

So, Perimeter =2(l+b)
=2×(1000+500)
=2×1500
=3000m

Therefore, 3000m of wire is required to fence the field.
