mass of the stone 6kg
specific gravity of stone = 3
gravity = mass of stone in air/ mass of an equal volume of water
3= 6kg/mass of an equal volume of water
mass of an equal volume of water= 6/3 = 2kg
Apparent weight of stone in water = 6 - 2 = 4 kg
Force applied F = 4 × 9.8N
work done in lifting the stone s = 5m is
W = F × = (4×9.8) ×4 = 156.8 J
