Given: mass = 2kg
height or displacement covered - s = 10m
To Find:
Work done - W = ?
Solution:
Formula used:
Work done (W) = Force (F) × displacement (s)
Force (F) = mass (m) × acceleration (g)
Applying the above formulas:
F = mg (g = 9.8m/s²) as mass is being vertically lifted therefore, Force of Gravitation acts on it.
F = 2 × 9.8
F = 19.6 N
W = 19.6 × 10
W = 196J
Hence, work done to lift 2 kg mass to a height of 10m = 196J
if g taken as 10, then W = m × g × s = 10 × 10 ×2 = 200J
