Hii dear,
# Cory House Synthesis-
It's synthesis of alkanes from alkyl halides and Gilman reagent (R2CuLi).
Reaction occurs by SN2 mechanism.
# Formation of n-pentane-
Reaction occurs in 3 steps
1)1-iodopropane reacts with lithium to form propyl lithium.
C3H7-I + 2Li ---> C3H7Li + LiI
2)When propyl lithium reacts with cuprous iodide, it forms lithium dipropyl cuprate (Gilmann reagent).
3) When lithium dipropyl cuprate reacts with ethyl iodide, it forms n-pentane.
2C3H7Li + CuI ---> (C3H7)2CuLi + LiI
(C3H7)2CuLi + C2H5-I ---> C5H12 + C3H7-Cu + LiI
Hope that helps...

n-pentane can be prepared with the help of Corey house synthesis.
- An alkyl halide can be used to create n-butane by reacting with lithium and ether. The generated product is then further processed with lithium dialkyl copper before being converted to an alkane using an alkyl halide. For the reaction part, see the attachment. The Corey House response is that one.
- Alkyl lithium is created when lithium and alkyl halides combine in dry ether. The Gilman reagent, also known as dialkyl lithium cuprate, is produced when this alkyllithium interacts with CuI. The Corey-House synthesis is a reaction in which this dialkyl lithium cuprate interacts with an alkyl halide to produce an alkane.
- The reaction between an additional alkyl (pseudo)halide or an aryl iodide and an organocopper reagent—typically a lithium dialkylcuprate as created above—is known as the Corey-House synthesis. As a result, a C-C bond is created between the two organic fragments:
