how optical fibres and reflection are associated ..pls give me a brief answer...pls

optical fibres provides data connections through a type of reflection called TOTAL INTERNAL REFLECTION. When the light ray makes a critical angle with the normal, the light ray comes back to the same medium. This usually occurs from a denser to a rarer medium.
