How personal energy, self-belief and commitment impact on leadership styles?

I don’t believe personal energy and self belief is any good in management, but commitment is essensial .
If you are not committed none of your colleagues will either. Having belief in a team or workforce is helpful, and being able to make quick and rational decisions is vital as is knowing where you want to go, and knowing how to get there is good as well.
I have seen the effects of poor management soon shows morale drops discipline becomes none existent and staff getting away with poor and shoddy work spreads throughout the workplace.
self belief does nothing to solve these problems a manager is just seen as as someone in an ivory tower knowing those workers you can rely on at any level shows you have the finger on the pulse.
I was appointed as the chairman of a company but could not speak the native language but even though I have an eye defect I could see right through the top executives There were to many of them and they weilded power or so they thought; at the time of the annual profit statement the empire builders moved in demanding their projects all the projects ignored the very people who made the profits so to ram home the message I split the employees into 2 groups the profit centre were those who did things that made profits the other was the overheads or cost centre.
Executives thought it was they who made profits they didn’t those that made profits wore dirty overalls those who spent recklessly wore suits so I then said we need a business plan starting with a 3 year plan we would move to 5 and update the 5 year plan every year adding a new plan for the one year we had lost ! executive opposed my idea, i asked if anyone else opposed it another 2 did so I asked the remaining executives 3 to stay and asked if they would co-operate they said they didn’t have time.
I thanked them for the frankness and asked them to clear their desks and to clear out their cars and I would when they were ready get them taxis to take them home, they thought I was bluffing but I wasn’t and after an hour nothing had been done and they were playing in their offices.
I said whats going on they told me I hadn’t the power to dismiss them I said I’m not dismissing you they smiled I said i’m suspending you permanently without pay!! that I can do as I’m your line manager read your contracts, with top of the range expensive cars fat salaries and pensions I can replace you and I am doing if you arn’t out of here in quarter of an hour you are to be removed by security look outside 3 vans full of security men.
Management is for the brave and couragous not pixies and word got through the factory that i’m not to be messed with a shareholders meeting took place that evening and I was asked to take back the office manager, the accountant and the director of personnel were dismissed by the shareholders and efficiency shot up in the factory, self belief does not have such results as the days past by another 3 executives fell on their swords say what you mean and mean what you say.
