the prime minister is elected by the members of lok sabha among themselves that means the prime minister should also be a member of lok sabha as well.i f the candidate gets more than 50% support from the lok sabha members,h e/she becomes the prime minister.

the party that holds majority in the lok sabha decide the prime minister. so the prime minister should be a part of that majority party of lok sabha.. omce a party becomes majority group,prime minister is been selected from that party members itself
