Look, if your main aim is to top your class or school in class X board then notes as well as listening to teachers during classes are important.If you do these things then you don't need to even textbook during exams (But take a glance for your assurance of what you have studied). For Notes you can do :-

1)Know the terminology by listening to teachers lectures carefully
2)For SSc, you can write large answers for questions by your own understanding.
3)For Science, First Make a Terms Tree To Understand the whole concept and to know what terms are connected to each other.After making the tree,you can write the definitions, Examples,Types,Properties of the terms.And Solve Exercises in the end of the chapter.
4)For Maths,Make 3 separate books,C/w,H/w and formula Book. In C/w solve all the exercises that has been solved By teachers in the class.In H/w solve all the exercises again with homework given to you.In Formula Book,Write all the formulas as the chapters completes.
5)In languages,just remember the story or plot of the poem or story and prepare your own answers for Exercise Questions.
