If India is a house, then the Prime Minister is father and the President is the grandfather. In a household, all major decisions are taken by father in consultation with grandfather. Similarly, all important decision or laws are approved by parliament, cabinet and PM but the final stamp is given by the President.
All the invitations from the household are sent in the name of the grandfather and received in his name only. All official connections (electricity, water), bills are in the name of the grandfather. Similarly, all invitations are in the name of the President of India. All acts, bills, and laws are signed by the President. Even on our passports, the President of our country appeals to concerned people in regards to our safety.
These are to request and require in the name of the president of republic of India, all those whom it may concern to allow the bearer to pass freely without let or hindrance and to afford him or her, every assistance and pretection of which he or she may stand in needBy order of the president of India
