Solution is where solid dissolves completely in liquid. Like sugar in water. No matter what sieve you use, you can’t filter the sugar out of water. If solid is colored, the color of liquid will change. And solid will get evenly distributed in that liquid.
Suspension is where solid breaks into smaller particles are gets distributed in the liquid(not evently). Even if you keep the liquid stationary for a long time, the suspended matter may not settle down. But using a sieve of correct size you can always filter out that solid from liquid.
