The Indian Railways is very well networked and connects virtually the entire length and breadth of the country, but the roadways are not so good as far as connectivity is concerned. The passenger fare and goods freight of Indian Railways generally remains constant over a period of one year; in the case of road transportation frequent changes are seen to occur. The Railways carry more passengers and goods per rake than a single or a couple of passenger or goods vehicles can do. The Railways have on board catering services, whereas the passenger vehicles do not have this facility. Toilets are a part of all long-distance trains, which is not the case in buses.
