Resolving power of a compound microscope is given by:-

as R.P. = 2uSinA/wavelength.

(i) When frequency is increased (i.e decrease in wavelength) Resolving power is increased.

(ii) When focal length is increased, there is no effect on resolving power.

(iii) When aperature is increased,

Resolving power is increased.
