➡️symbiotic nitrogen fixers include Rhizobium in the roots of legumes and frankia in non-legumes like Alnus and Casurina.

➡️Symbiotic nitrogen fixation takes place in the root of nodules of legumes.

➡️ Biological nitrogen fixation requires the following three biochemical components:--

✴️ A reducing agent.,to transfer the hydrogen atom to dinitrogen.

✴️ ATP, to provide energy.

✴️ The enzyme system - - nitrogenase, a Mo-Fe protine and leghamoglobin.

- Rhizobium contains enzyme nitrogenase, to reduce nitrogen.

-The root nodules contains leghamoglobin, which is a pink colour pigment similar to haemoglobin of vertebrates and functions as an oxygen scavenger and protects the nitrogenase from oxygen.
