sedimentary rocks are most common rock type which are freely exposed on earth surface .They are formed from other rock materials since they r made from the buildup of weathered and eroded per existing rocks . The weathering erosion and the eventual compaction of igneous, metamorphic or firmly structured among other biological sedimentations leads to the formation of sedimentary rocks.

Answer:

various agents of erosion, such a wind, glacier, rivers, etc. break existing rocks into smaller fragments. These fragments are then, transported

by wind, rivers, glacier, etc., and are deposited in layers. over the years, these layers are compressed and hardened (compaction) due to heat and pressure. This results in the formation of sedimentary rocks. During the formation of sedimentary rocks, fossils of plants and animals may get trapped between its layers. sandstone, siltstone and shell are examples of sedimentary rocks.
