Answer:

AS a proud and loyal citizen, I strongly feel that when the national anthem is played, we must stop whatever we are doing and stand straight as a sign of respect. This is the simplest way to display our love and loyalty to our country.

Answer:

It’s been more than a decade i have ever sung or stood up for the National anthem of India. I believe a person must be rational rather than emotional .

National anthem is a song like any other song and a person should sing it, if he or she is impressed with its tune and lyrics .

Can you ask a person to sing a song ,if he or she is not interested in its lyrics or tune? The most appropriate answer to this question is NO.

I have personally asked many of my friends and students to tell me the meaning of the lyrics of the Indian National anthem, but to my surprise, most of them didn’t have any idea about the meaning of the lyrics of the Indian National anthem and they were all singing it as a ritual from school days and more recently even at cinema halls.

In my opinion,if a person is not interested in the lyrics or tune of a song, then he or she shouldn’t sing it. However,I believe ,if a citizen is not interested to stand up for the National anthem, then we as fellow citizens must respect his or her personal liberty . Likewise , we as citizens shouldn’t disrupt another citizen from singing or standing up for the National anthem.

National anthem is purely symbolic in nature to create a sense of brotherhood among its citizens and we shouldn’t waste our energy in thinking how people should respect it.

If any citizen want to show his or her respect to his motherland ,then it needs to be done by taking up initiatives that can bring similes in our fellow countrymen and NOT by singing National anthem now and then in the name of giving respect to it.
