Sky appears to be blue bcoz of scattering of light .
The sunlight entering the earth's atmosphere is refracted by atmospheric particles. These tiny particles refract the light of small wavelength (blue). This refracted light enters the observer's eyes and sky appears to be blue in colour.

Blue light is scattered in all directions by tiny molecules of air in earth's atmosphere. Blue is scattered more than other colors because it travels as shorter , smaller waves. That's why the sky looks blue.
