An atom is unimaginably small, and that's why you cannot even imagine it. But I'll try to let you see how small it is. I don't want to scare you, so let's start with the largest atom (in theoretical calcualtions), which is around 300 pm in radius, which gives us a diameter of 0.6 nm.
