Take two plastic cups and a long thread. By using some sticky tape, paste one end of the thread on the bottom surface of one cup and another end of the thread on the other cup.
Hold the first cup in your hand and ask one of your friends to hold the second cup in such a manner that the thread is pulled stretched. Now let your friend keep the second cup on their ear and speak something in the first cup. Anything you speak in the first cup can be heard in the second cup.
This proves that sound can travel through solids where in this case thread is the solid medium.

Sound needs medium to travel it means the sound travel as a longitudinal wave.
If someone shout or say something . the reason around him / her have gas molecule. the sound wave travel.
we know that a longitudinal wave motion travels in the form of compression and rarefactions which involve changes in volume and density of the medium.
Experiment.
Let me hit a table with a hammer which produce sound. the mechanical through which we hit the table transform into heat and sound.
and wave travel through the part where we hit by that hammer . and sound produces.
we can took a long pipe solid and keep its one end alway from our reach and then we put. our one ear to its other end. say someone to hit it's another end. and we can clearly listen sound to other end which tell that sound travel through the medium (solid).
