WHEN AN OBJECT IS AT REST AND WE WANT TO MOVE IT THE FRICTION OPPOSING THE BOX WILL BE THE STATIC FRICTION.
WHEN AN OBJECT IS SLIDING THEN A FRICTION OPPOSES THE BOX THAT FRICTION IS KNOWN AS SLIDING FRICTION

static friction is a self - adjusting force of friction that exists between a stationary object and the surface on which it has been kept.sliding friction that acts between an object and a surface when the object is sliding over that surface
