Answer:

Using Alloying to Prevent Corrosion

We've seen that alloys can be created to increase a metal's resistance to corrosion. The traditional method used to prevent corrosion was to cover the metal with a surface coating, such as polymer. This creates a barrier between the surface of the metal and the elements

Answer:

Alloying helps to strengthen the properties of its constituents. If iron is used with different substances to create an alloy then ,possibly the resistance of iron including alloy increases against corrosion and thus alloying can prevent corrosion of even iron

For Example:

I will use stainless steel as an example to explain this for you..

Stainless steel alloys contain iron, but it resists rust because it also contains a high percentage of chromium which is even more reactive than iron. The chromium in the alloy oxidizes quickly to form a protective layer of chromium oxide on the metal surface which prevents oxygen from reaching the underlying steel.

Hope this helps:)
