As organism become more complex ,the specialization of tissues increases.Multicellular organism have special lineage of cells called as germ cells that is found in specialized organs which have only half the number of chromosomes and half the amount of DNA of compared to the non reproductive body cell .Thus germ cells from two individuals combine during sexual reproduction to form a new individual there is a Re-establishment of number of chromosome and the DNA content .

During reproduction meiosis takes place in which we receive 23 pairs of chromosomes from mom and dad at first these cells are halploid when fusion takes place between male and female gametes they get combined and form 46 chromosomes which is diploid
