i) Atomic radius

Atomic radius decreases as we go from left to right in a period and increases as we go down the group

ii) Ionization potential

Ionization potential increases as we go from left to right in a period and decreases as we go down the grp

Exception: The first ionization potential of O(Oxygen) is less than N (Nitrogen) because of the half-filled stable configuration of nitrogen it requires more energy for the removal of electrons.

iii) Electronic Affinity

Electron affinity increases as we go across a period and decreases as we go down the group

Exception: period 3 elements have higher electron affinity than the elements of period 2

iv) Electronegativity

Electronegativity decreases down the group and increases across a period.
