hey there!!

This is a brilliant doubt and question.

We use Zinc on iron to prevent iron from rusting, but even if there is a scratch on the Zinc coating, the iron doesnost rust. Because the other portions of the Zinc rusts first. In the reactivity series, zinc is more reactive than iron. So first, zinc decays and then the air. As zinc being strong, it decays after very lon time.

Hope my answer helps!

nichname: but if the zinc is broken from somewhere that means the iron is in the contact of direct environment then it can not get corroded?
fiercespartan: zinc takes the attraction, because zinc has to react first according to the reactivity series
nichname: ok thank-you
fiercespartan: pleasure!
