The particles of gas move in all possible direction. During their motion, they collide with each other and against the walls of the container... Kinetic energy is released then and Due to this collision the gas molecules exert pressure on the wall container..

since the gas has no exact shape .its shape keep on fluctuating.thats why gas always exert pressure on the walls of the container it is kept.
