Answer:

Chemical coordination takes place in animals with the help of hormones. Hormones are the chemical fluids that are secreted by the glands of the endocrine system. Hormones regulate the overall growth and development of animals.

Types of glands

There are two types of glands helping in the coordination which are exocrine and endocrine glands

Exocrine glands – Secrete juices through a duct.

Example – The salivary gland

Endocrine glands – Secrete juices directly in the bloodstream. They secrete hormones called chemical messengers.

Example – Thyroid gland

The nervous system including the endocrine system controls and as well as coordinates the physiological process in the human body.

Answer:

The vital activities of an organism are controlled by endocrine system and nervous system. In animals both hormones and neurons (structural and functional unit of nervous system) are involved in regulating and coordinating the various vital activities. In plants only chemical (phytohormones) co-ordination is presentThese endocrine glands in animals help in the chemical coordination. They secrete chemicals called hormones. They are special messengers that control many body functions, including hunger, body temperature, mood, growth and development, metabolism, reproductive processes etc
