A plunge pool is an erosional rock-cut feature formed beneath a waterfall where a hydraulic jump occurs. Pot-holes or rock- mills of this special type are known from less than a metre to 90 m in depth. Several processes produce this localized over-deepening of the stream bed.

hope it helps !!

Explanation:

A plung pool is found at the bottom of a waterfall and is formed by erosion. As waterfall then hits the ground beneath,it causes erosion, which forms a pool. the pool is known as the plunge pool.
