due to refraction of light which is happen in atmosphere due to atmospheric pressure. by these moving air stars seems to be twinkling.

HELLO THERE!

Why do stars twinkle?

The reason is simple :

The stars are at a huge distance from the Earth, and the light rays from them need to travel a long distance to reach an observer on Earth.

Now this means that the light rays need to come through the five layers of the atmosphere. The lower layers of the atmosphere are denser, while the upper layers are rarer.

As the rays reach the atmosphere, they suffer refraction at each layer, and at each refraction, it bends towards the normal, and finally reaches the observer. If the actual position of the Star is at A, then the observer sees it at position B.

Now, the density of the layers continuously changes, due to which the apparent position of the star with respect to the observer also changes. Hence, the stars appear twinkling.
