How the touchscreen of smartphones work ? Explain in best and simple language

There are "TACTILE SENSORS" in smartphones which are sensitive to touch ,force or pressure.when we touch the screen of smartphone the sensors detect the pressure and the stimulus is sensed through the tactile sensors

mstushar2020: But dear Whg the Tactile sensors are only stimulated by fingers and not by other things like clothes, wood etc ?
