Abel Merryweather has two daughters, both of whom care only for their Dad’s possessions and not him. When Mr Abel declares that he will write his will in favor of the daughter in whose house he lives till the end. This made each daughter assert that the father should stay with her.  Then Abel decide to alter his will claiming to leave his possessions to the one who would love him till the end. This happens to be the widow Mrs Shorrocks who ran the Ring-O-Bells.
